Absolute Beginner
This level is for the students who have no experience in learning Japanese.

Course Description

This course consists of 6 weekly introductory lessons of Japanese language and culture.

 

The lessons cover listening, speaking, reading and writing skills which are required to greet, introduce yourself, follow a simple instructions, asking and answering simple questions etc.

 

On completion of this course you will be familiar with basic Japanese pronunciation, know hiragana, be familiar with some katakana and few kanji, and develop broad sense of Japanese custom and culture.

It is suitable for the people who study Japanese for the first time or who have studied Japanese in primary school many years ago to begin the long term journey of learning Japanese language and culture

 

It is also suitable for who would like to have brief idea of Japanese language and culture before travelling to Japan.

YELLOW BELT

Lower Beginner 

 

This level is for the students who can

already read hiragana,

katakana, some kanji and able to

form a few simple sentences.

Course Description

This course covers listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and suitable for the people who would like to become able to communicate more with local Japanese people.

 

On completion of this course, you will gain the ability to understand some basic Japanese.

 

You will be able to listen and comprehend conversations about topics regularly encountered in daily life, business situations and classroom situations, and is able to pick up necessary information from the short conversations spoken slowly.

 

You will able to read and understand typical expressions and sentences written in hiragana, katakana and basic kanji.

aiming towards JLPT N5 Level

GREEN BELT

Upper Beginner to

This level is for the students who have completed about one year of study.
 

Course Description

This course covers listening, speaking, reading and writing. On completion of this course, you will have the ability to understand basic Japanese.

 

You will be able to listen and comprehend conversations encountered in daily matters in Japanese which can be used for both general and business situations and generally follow their contents provided that they are spoken slowly.

 

You will be able to read and understand passages on familiar daily topics written in basic vocabulary and kanji.

There is bridging course to review beginner level contents before beginning intermediate level course.

BLUE BELT

Lower-Intermediate

This level is for the students who have completed beginner level Japanese courses including year 12 Japanese to develop their skill to be used in more variety of situations and settings.
 

Course Description

This course covers listening, speaking, reading and writing. On completion of this course, you will have the ability to understand everyday Japanese to a certain degree.

 

You will be able to read and understand written materials with specific contents with everyday topics.

 

You will able to grasp summary information such as news headlines.

 

You will able to read slightly difficult writings about everyday situations and understand main points assisted with some alternative phrases.

 

You will be able to listen and comprehend coherent conversations

in everyday situations, spoken at near-natural speed following the content and grasping the relationships people are involved in the conversation.

RED BELT

Upper Intermediate

This level is suitable for people who would like to develop more sophisticated Japanese language skill.
 

Course Description

The students should have sound knowledge of Japanese grammar and vocabulary seeking a more sophisticated way of Japanese expression.

 

On completion of this course, you will have the ability to understand Japanese used in everyday situations and in a variety of context in a certain degree.

 

You will be able to read materials written clearly on a variety of topics such as articles and commentaries in newspapers and magazines as well as simple critiques and comprehend their contents.

 

You will also be able to read written materials on general topics and follow their narratives as well as understand the intent of the writers.

 

You will be able to comprehend orally presented materials such as coherent conversations and news reports, spoken at nearly natural speed

in everyday situations as well as in a variety of settings and is able to follow their ideas and comprehend their contents. 

 

You will also be able to understand the relationships among the people involved and the essential points of the presented materials.

You will also able to understand the details of The presented materials such as the relationships among the people involved, the logical structures and the essential points.
